A private security firm, Volsec Security, has attached two vehicles of a rival competitor, Securico Services (Pvt) Ltd, to recover legal costs in an ISO certification dispute that spilled into the High Court last year.

Volsec Security had been sued by Securico Services in the High Court for allegedly stealing their information and using it to attain ISO9001/2008.

In its claim, Securico Services sought the cancellation of Volsec’s ISO quality management system certification.

But the firm allegedly failed to sustain its claim against Volsec Security and later withdrew the claim, resulting in the High Court ordering it to pay wasted costs in the matter.

Volsec Security approached the same court and obtained a writ of execution to attach movable property of Securico Services to recover the costs of the suit.

In a writ of execution witnessed by Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku, Volsec Security was given the green light to attach Securico Services vehicles – a Toyota bus ABO 8409 and a T35 bus ADC 0084 – to satisfy the debt due to it by Securico Service in the matter.

The two buses are now set to go under the hammer any time, as Volsec Security seeks to raise the money due to it.

Volsec Security attained ISO certification in 2008 as it claims its stake to become one of the largest security companies in Zimbabwe.

Volsec Security became the first and only security company to be certified in three international standards by the Standards Association of Zimbabwe.

The security company has been awarded with ISO 9001: 2008 (quality management system), certified 2012, ISO 14001:2004 (environment management system), certified 2014 and OHSAS 18001:2007 (occupational health and safety assessment series), certified 2014.

Volsec Security provides comprehensive security services like security guards, cash-in-transit, alarms, rapid response, closed circuit TV (CCTV) and access control.
